Who we are
This website is run by Alleyne’s Academy, Oulton Road, Stone, Staffordshire, ST15 8DT. The academy is the data controller for any personal information you give us through this site, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for looking after it.
This page covers the website only. How we handle information about our students, families and staff in school is explained in our full privacy notices.
02
What we collect
You can browse the whole site without telling us who you are. We only collect personal details when you choose to send us something:
Please don’t include sensitive details, such as medical or safeguarding information, in a website form. Call us on 01785 337400 instead.
03
How we use it
We use the details you send to reply to your enquiry and, where relevant, to help with your child’s admission or your booking. We will not use them to send you marketing, and we never sell your information.
Under UK data protection law, we rely on our legitimate interests in answering the messages people send us, and on our public task as a school when an enquiry is about admissions or a student’s education.
04
Cookies & storage
This website does not set any cookies of its own, and it doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers, so there is no cookie banner to accept.
The only thing saved in your browser is a small note that remembers if you closed the notice bar at the top of the page, so it doesn’t keep coming back. It is stored in your browser’s session storage, never sent to us, and is cleared when you close your browser.
05
Other services we use
- Web3Forms delivers messages from our forms to the school’s inbox. If it can’t be reached, the form opens your own email app instead, and nothing is sent until you press send.
- Google Fonts provides the lettering on this site. Your browser fetches the fonts from Google, which means Google can see your IP address.
- YouTube hosts the virtual tour on our About page. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, so it doesn’t store information about you unless you play the video.
- Google Maps shows where we are on our Contact page. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Links to other websites, such as ParentPay, SchoolCloud, Remote Login, Email Login and Facebook, take you to services with their own privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for how those sites use your information.
06
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages only for as long as we need them to deal with your request. If an enquiry leads to something longer-term, such as your child joining the academy, the information becomes part of their school record and is kept in line with our Data Protection Policy.
07
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete it
- ask us to limit how we use it
- object to us using it
To ask for a copy of your information, fill in our Subject Access Request form, or email office@alleynes.staffs.sch.uk for anything else.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please talk to us first using our Complaints Policy. You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
